Recipients include Northwest Harvest of Seattle, which received $200,000, and the Arlington Community Food Bank, which was gifted with $100,000. The Stillaguamish Tribe also earmarked $300,000 for its A Christmas Wish program that assists families experiencing food insecurity. A Christmas Wish also provides gifts to more than 2,000 children in the region.

A statement issued by the Stillaguamish Tribe Board of Directors emphasized its tradition of charitable work in the community.

“Each holiday season in addition to our normal charitable giving throughout the year, we like to choose a few organizations to gift a large donation to that we feel will have the biggest impact on our direct community,” the statement read. “It is important to us that our younger generation is involved in the spirit of giving to carry on the tradition as they grow. We are grateful and happy that we are able to help families that are having a difficult time during the holiday season, we especially wanted to make Christmas special for as many children as we possibly could.”

The Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians, a federally recognized Indian tribe, owns and runs the Angel of the Winds Casino Resort in Arlington.
