LAS VEGAS (AP) – The Las Vegas Strip is getting a new addition: a weekend picket in front of the Cosmopolitan casino.

Sin City’s largest union says it will protest twice a day on weekends. Workers protested on Friday afternoon and evening.

Culinary Union leaders say they’ve stalled on major issues with Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and casino owner Deutsche Bank. Labor and management have been negotiating a contract for two years, sparing over wages, health care and job security.

The Cosmopolitan was built by the German investment bank after its original developer defaulted.

A majority of Cosmopolitan service workers signed cards in 2010 saying they wanted representation.

The union has staged four single-day pickets this year. Before the pickets began, the union had not protested on the Strip for a decade.
