TwinSpires Horse Racing, part of the TwinSpires Segment of Churchill Downs Inc., has promoted Michael Lilly to president.
Lilly will oversee the strategy operations of this digital arm of Churchill Downs’ business.
TwinSpires Horse Racing is the online pari-mutuel horse racing betting platform operated by Churchill Downs, allowing players across the United States to bet on local and international horse racing events. TwinSpires is the official betting platform of the Kentucky Derby, which saw record-breaking betting handles in 2024.
Lilly has been with Churchill Downs since 2018, first taking the role of senior director of finance at Arlington Racecourse. In 2020, he moved into the TwinSpires Segment, working as vice president of finances until 2022, when he became the company’s vice president of finance and operations. The TwinSpires Segment has been expanding, with the company acquiring Exacta Systems in 2023.
Before joining Churchill Downs, Lilly held financial leadership roles in the Chicago area. He has a bachelor of arts from Northern Illinois University and a master of business administration from DePaul University.
