Strive Gaming, a North American player account management platform, has appointed Ian Smith as chief technology officer.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Smith has worked for companies like Flutter Entertainment, Rank Group and William Hill, where he served for 16 years. In his most recent role, Smith served as the CTO for the gaming platform Game Play Network.

“We are delighted to welcome Ian Smith to Strive Gaming as our new CTO,” said Strive Gaming CEO Max Meltzer. “Ian has rare characteristics: exceptional hands-on skill, experience, and yet a sense of calm, humility and, above all, a desire to help talent around him flourish. This, coupled with his extensive industry experience in the gaming industry, make him the right person to lead our technical initiatives and help the business achieve its goals.”

Smith oversaw the company-wide expansion of its PAM and omni-channel at Rank Gaming.

“I’m thrilled to join the talented team at Strive Gaming,” Smith said. “Having worked with their PAM product from a customer perspective, I have first-hand experience of its quality and potential. I am confident that together we can further evolve the company and achieve our vision of becoming the number one PAM provider in North America.”

Strive Gaming, based in Vancouver, plans to expand its presence and secure licenses in all U.S. gaming states. The company has offices in the United States, Canada, Malta and the United Kingdom. Last month, sports betting supplier OpenBet invested in this expansion in return for a minority stake in the company.
