Lottery provider Scientific Games and the Arizona Lottery have extended their contract for an additional three years.

“Scientific Games has been a trusted partner of the Arizona Lottery for 43 years and we are proud to continue our partnership into the coming years,” Arizona Lottery CEO Alec Thomson said in a press release.

Scientific Games will continue to power the Arizona Lottery with its enterprise systems technology, including an advanced central gaming system and next-generation vending solutions powered by SCiQ technology.

“We started with the Arizona Lottery at its beginning with the launch of the instant product portion of their business and have supported them for the last eight years with our lottery gaming system technology, which has served the Lottery very well,” John Schulz, President, Americas & Global Instant Products, said in the press release. “Our teams and technologists have worked hard to build a strong partnership with the Lottery through service excellence and continually modernizing the technology that supports its sales – ultimately driving maximum funding for good cause programs in Arizona.”

Proceeds from Arizona Lottery ticket sales support a range of statewide initiatives, including health and human services, environmental conservation, higher education and economic development. Last year, the Arizona Lottery contributed more than $318.41 million to these beneficiaries.

Scientific Games partnered with the Arizona Lottery in 1981, the year the Lottery was founded. Since 2016, their current systems technology has fueled a 73 percent growth in sales for the Arizona Lottery.

Scientific Games has had a busy year, also partnering with Inspired Entertainment, EQL Games and Amazon.
