Producers of the 2018 Global Gaming Expo said Thursday the four-day conference and trade show in Las Vegas in early October grew its overall attendance by more than 6 percent from a year ago.

More than 27,000 attended the event at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. The figure fueled a 16 percent increase in key buyer attendance on the trade show floor, with 27 percent of the attendees saying it was the first time they visited G2E.

The conference also saw a 30 percent increase in turnout at the G2E education programs.

“We are thrilled to see this year’s numbers corroborate the overwhelming productivity that exhibitors and attendees experienced at G2E,” said Allie Barth, vice president of industry services for the American Gaming Association. The AGA produces the show with Reed Exhibitions.

“Our goal was to create a show that was relevant to today’s gaming professionals and facilitate ways to advance opportunities for industry growth,” Barth said.

G2E Event Director Korbi Carrison said, “The gaming industry is at an exciting moment where evolving technology and aspiring entrepreneurs are creating new ways to innovate. The excitement from the G2E show floor was palpable and will shape how casino-resorts operate for years to come.”

The 2019 G2E in Las Vegas is scheduled for Oct. 14-17 at the Sands Expo.
