The Pro League Network, which provides betting opportunities on niche sports, Tuesday announced it has closed a round of seed funding. The funding was led by Eberg Capital Founder Roger Ehrenberg via IA Ventures and Eberg Capital, which also led a Series A2 investment in Betr, Jake Paul and Joe Levy’s media and sports-betting company.

In addition, PLN announced that Chris Grove (Acies Capital, Eilers & Krejcik) and Jeff Ma (Microsoft, ESPN) have been named advisors.

“PLN is at the forefront of creating a new kind of bettable entertainment,” Ehrenberg said in a statement. “We’ve been impressed by the momentum they have generated across the industry and look forward to helping them grow.”

PLN was launched in December 2022 and provides unique sports produced exclusively for sports-wagering operators. The company’s roster includes the World Putting League, Pro Footgolf, the National Carrom League, T3 Touch Tennis, and the CarJitsu Championship.

PLN plans to use the funding to add more content and infrastructure.

“Realizing the full potential of legal sports betting in the U.S. will require expanding the fundamental definition of sports betting, including expanding the sports we think about when we think about betting,” Grove said. “PLN’s mission of enabling and creating emerging sports for betting is key to the ability of sportsbooks to offer more fans more options more often.”

PLN’s content is carried by DraftKings, Bet365, and Betfred and is available for wagering in New Jersey, Tennessee, Arizona, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, and Wyoming. PLN content is also available in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
