Construction for the project, which will feature 189 rooms with 25 suites and 168 residence rentals, is scheduled to begin in March 2024. The hotel and residences will be located in the Point Vista development, a 2,700-acre resort community that features more than 19 miles of shoreline and the Catfish Bay Marina, the Chickasaw Pointe Golf Course, a waterpark, family entertainment center, amphitheater, and the West Bay Casino & Resort.

The project is estimated to create more than 9,000 jobs in the area, approximately 1.5 hours from Dallas.

“We’re excited to expand our award-winning hotel portfolio and bring our unique brand of hospitality and entertainment to Lake Texoma and the Pointe Vista development,” said Hard Rock International Senior Vice President and Head of Global Hotel Development Todd Hricko in a statement. “We’re especially thankful to Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt for his support of our new Hard Rock development in Pointe Vista.”

“It’s my pleasure to welcome the development of the Hard Rock Hotel and Residences at Lake Texoma,” Governor Stitt said. “This will provide even more opportunity for guests to visit this beautiful area and create huge economic opportunity for this community.”

As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the Chickasaw Nation opened West Bay Casino & Resort overlooking Lake Texoma in May 2023. The 9,600-square-foot casino features 275 slot machines, table games and a restaurant, with 40 guest rooms and 10 lakefront rental cabins.

Also in May 2023, developer Craig International announced plans to build an approximately 3,100-acre project on Lake Texoma’s southern shore. The plans include more than 7,000 residential units, including single- and multi-family homes, a resort hotel, restaurant, and a 400- to 600-slip marina.

The new Hard Rock development is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2026. According to developers, Lake Texoma attracts nearly seven million visitors per year, and hosts fishing and golf tournaments at the country’s 14th-largest reservoir.

“Our collaboration will be a great success with Hard Rock International and a very positive contribution to the Pointe Vista community,” Pointe Vista Holding Company CEO Mark Fischer. “We’re thrilled to create a unique residence and entertainment destination.”

Aimbridge Hospitality, a third-party management company, will operate the Hard Rock Hotel and Hard Rock Residential Program.

“We’re looking forward to operating this property in partnership with Hard Rock International, a company that continues to expand and explore innovative ways to bring world-class entertainment to guests,” said Aimbridge Hospitality Chief Development Officer Tiffany Cooper.
