COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – The latest monthly report shows revenue rose from April to May at three of Ohio’s four casinos, yielding a statewide total that increased month-to-month and was just slightly shy of the amount a year earlier.

Monday’s report from the Ohio Casino Control Commission says May revenue at casinos in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Toledo increased from the previous month.

Cincinnati logged the largest difference, up about $809,000 from April. Revenue there and in Cleveland was down compared with May 2014, while the Columbus and Toledo numbers were higher than a year earlier.

The casinos brought in more than $71 million in May, bringing total revenue to over $345 million this year. About one-third of that is collected in taxes and given mostly to counties, school districts and host cities.
