Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise this week appointed Mike Apachee as Lead Casino Shift Manager at Fire Rock Navajo Casino in Gallup, New Mexico.

Apachee will oversee daily casino operations, support team leadership, and ensure a high level of guest service across the gaming floor. He will be instrumental in maintaining operational efficiency while upholding Navajo Gaming’s standards for service and hospitality.

“I am honored to join the Fire Rock team in this new role,” Apachee said in a statement. “I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow within Navajo Gaming and look forward to bringing that experience to Fire Rock — supporting our team and continuing to deliver outstanding experiences for our guests.”

Apachee started with Navajo Gaming in 2018 at Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff, Arizona, as a summer student intern in sales and marketing and participated in the enterprise’s “Let’s Build a Business” internship program. He worked alongside executive leadership and fellow interns to help develop and launch the Navajo Blue Travel Plaza in Flagstaff.

He transitioned into operations at Navajo Blue, where he played a role in brand development, design, construction, and marketing efforts. After the plaza’s opening in 2020, Apachee advanced into leadership roles, including supervisory and management positions before serving as travel plaza manager, where he focused on team development, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
