The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) announced Monday Charles H. Jeffers II, founder of The Jeffers Group, a consulting firm specializing in interim executive leadership, governance, strategic operations, and organizational culture, will join the advocacy organization as interim executive director effective immediately.
“Charles’ depth of experience in understanding culture dynamics, operational demands, and board governance is key to our selecting him to lead as interim executive director of NCPG,” said Derek Longmeier, NCPG’s board president. “As he navigates the leadership transition, he will be focused on operations aligned with strategy and transparency, and culture reflecting NCPG values.”
The NCPG’s search for a permanent executive director will begin in January.
Jeffers is the founder and principal consultant of The Jeffers Group, bringing more than 30 years of nonprofit executive leadership and organizational consulting experience to organizations navigating complex challenges. Having served in and alongside organizations in executive leadership roles throughout his career, Jeffers has firsthand experience in managing challenges that could undermine an organization and to instead ensure further strengthening.
Jeffers has served as interim executive director of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), and previously as chief executive officer of the Bermuda Tourism Authority.
