Louisiana casino revenue reaches $246.2 million in May, up 8%

Louisiana casinos generated revenue of $246.2 million in May, up 8% year-over-year, boosted by Bally’s Baton Rouge’s move to land. That casino reported $6.2 million in May, up 591%. Excluding this property, statewide revenue was up 5.7%, the Louisiana Gaming Control Board reported.

May sports betting revenue was $45.9 million, down 3%, from a handle of $318 million, which was up 6%.

The Lake Charles district led Louisiana with revenue of $86.4 million, up 3%. L’Auberge Du Lac posted $31.4 million, up 9.2%. Golden Nugget Lake Charles collected revenue of $30.1 million, down 0.9%. Delta Downs brought in revenue of $16.9 million, a 4.8% increase.

Shreveport/Bossier City operators reported revenue of $64.6 million, up 15.8%. Margaritaville Resort Casino posted $15.9 million, up 15.9%. Horseshoe Shreveport generated revenue of $15.7 million, an increase of 39.2%. Live! Casino posted $13.4 million, up 25%.

New Orleans district properties reported revenue of $59.2 million, up 12%. Caesars New Orleans brought in $27.5 million, up 21.9%. Treasure Chest generated $15.2 million, up 4.7%, and Boomtown Casino & Hotel reported revenue of $9.7 million, down 8%.

The Baton Rouge district’s $28.8 million was an increase of 2.7%. L’Auberge Baton Rouge posted $14.7 million, down 16.5%. The Queen of Baton Rouge generated $7.8 million, down 17.6%.

Evangeline Downs generated $7.1 million, down 2%.
