Las Vegas visitation dipped slightly in April, as analysts predicted, with visitor volume down nearly 2% during the month. It brings the total for the year down two-tenths of one percent.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Friday reported 3.27 million visitors came to Las Vegas in April, a 1.8% decrease over April 2025. Analysts were expecting a slight dip in April based on room-rate tracking, but anticipate a stronger May, June, and July at this point. The arrival of the World Cup to the U.S., along with packages offered by resorts, are expected to lure travelers this summer.

Air passenger traffic was down 7% for the month, but vehicle traffic from southern California was up about 3%.

Hotel occupancy for the month reached 83.1%, a decline of 1.5 points, with weekend occupancy at 92.7%, down from 93.8% a year ago, and midweek occupancy just under 80% after 81.2% a year ago. Strip occupancy was 85.8%, down from 87.6% a year ago. Downtown occupancy was 68.4%, down from 72% a year ago.

Convention attendance was about 20,000 higher this year, up to 592,100, a 3.2% increase, supported by recurring shows such as National Association of Broadcasters (58,000 attendees) and the Google NEXT conference (32,000 attendees), along with the return of rotating shows including the Coverings tradeshow (25,000 attendees).

Average daily room rates reached $190.41, a record level for the month, while revenue per room was $158, the second highest ever for the month. The rate was $205 on the Strip, up 1% from $203 a year ago. It was $95 downtown, down nearly 6% from $101 a year ago. Revenue per room on the Strip was $176.40, down 1% from $178 a year ago. Revenue per room fell 11% in downtown Las Vegas to $65 from $73.

The visitor decline occurred despite major events during the month, including the Sick New World music festival, NCAA Frozen Four hockey championship, Bruno Mars concerts, and the repeat performance of Wrestlemania after its successful event last year.

Among the events of note and their dates was the Dolby Live Theater at Park MGM hosted the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony April 17th. The Colosseum at Caesars Palace hosted Jerry Seinfeld April 17th and 18th and Cyndi Lauper April 24th through April 29th. BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau hosted Dancing with the Stars Live on April 24th. Bruno Mars performed at Allegiant Stadium April 10th and 11th. Allegiant Stadium hosted the WWE WrestleMania 41 event April 18th and 19th. The T-Mobile Arena hosted the Vegas Golden Knights on various dates throughout the month of April. The T-Mobile Arena also hosted the WWE Smackdown event on April 17th and the WWE:Raw event on April 20th. The MSG Sphere hosted the Wizard of Oz all throughout April 2026, and hosted The Eagles on April 2nd through 4th, and Phish on April 16th through the 30th.
