For Incredible Technologies, this year’s Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas was a breakthrough event. The design and development manufacturer of entertainment hardware and software for the gaming industry had more content than ever at its booth, according to senior product marketing manager Kelsey Reish.
“The hardware looks like a step up from our previous lines and we’re more excited about the content, the game content, in the booth than a while,” Reish said.
Incredible Technologies was exhibiting two cabinets at G2E: the Prism Spark and Prism Skybox. The Expo marked the debut of the Prism Spark, a 43” curved UHD portrait monitor paired with a 27” FHD topper. It was unveiled with Prism Skybox, a C-curved 43” UHD portrait display that debuted in 2021.
“They represent where hardware development is going,” Reish said. “It’s a very different look from us. It’s our first curved screen, so that’s exciting. We have integrated lighting, and they, of course, add to the game experience. They feel more elevated. Players are more attracted to them.
“Right now, we are developing and testing content on all of our cabinets, and the performance data will determine where themes are released and which cabinet they go on.”
Reish noted that the Prism cabinets have been in development for years and they are the hardware line that will propel Incredible Technologies into the next generation of gaming. In particular, a new game that debuted at G2E, Just Buried, seems particularly a good fit for the cabinets.
A play on the just-married theme, Just Buried features two zombie creatures celebrating matrimonial bliss. With a release scheduled for this year, Just Buried stands out with a color scheme that features lime greens, warm blues, and vibrant purples.
“It’s actually got a wedding cake covered in zombie slime, which is kind of gruesome, but a color palette that makes it palatable,” Reish says.
The gameplay is instinctual. Scatters correspond to various levels of the game and can be upgraded to increase values of the awards.
“It’s a lot to take in initially, but it’s pretty intuitive,” Reish says. “The color scheme is fine and then everything adds up at the end. And then you’ve got a little dance party,” Reish adds, as the zombie characters perform their own celebratory dance.
The game features Easter eggs that are mirthful and a nod to the company’s roots in Chicago. Reish says when the game’s ride gets electrocuted, butterflies appear on the bride’s stomach. The groom has a Chicago-style hot dog in his stomach, a wink at one of the Midwest city’s culinary favorites.
It’s also a game that features the slot industry’s latest developments.
“This is a nice mashup of successful features and trends in the industry,” Reish said. “… anyone that’s trying to figure out or understand the game, part of it feels familiar, but it’s the unique combination and different cuts of the (mechanics), and that’s what makes it really exciting. It’s a pretty good wedding gift.”
