Illinois: DraftKings at Casino Queen Sportsbook to open March 29

DraftKings Wednesday announced it will open its permanent retail sportsbook at DraftKings at Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Illinois, on March 29. The 6,000-foot DraftKings at Casino Queen Sportsbook will feature state-of-the-art amenities, including a 60-foot video wall, high definition televisions, a VIP area, and3 8 betting kiosks.

DraftKings and CQ Holding Company, owner of DraftKings at Casino Queen, first announced the collaboration in 2020 and previously opened a temporary sportsbook.

“With this comprehensive renovation, we are introducing a new era of sports betting, sports viewing and overall entertainment at DraftKings at Casino Queen,” said CQ Holding Company President and CEO Terry Downey in a statement. “Our relationship with DraftKings has allowed us to create an all-encompassing, state-of-the-art space that will continue to add to Illinois’ excitement for sports wagering.”

Located near the Casino Queen gaming floor, the sportsbook also will offer guests new dining and drinking experiences. In addition to a custom-designed bar, the DraftKings at Casino Queen Sportsbook will offer game-day entrees, including barbecue pork steak, St. Louis hot salami, and pub burger sliders.

National firm JCJ Architecture, which has seven offices across the country, partnered with DraftKings at Casino Queen to design the sportsbook.
