Illinois’ commercial casinos generated $183.1 million in revenue in March, up 7.1% year-over-year, with two casinos expanding their offerings.
The figures, published by the Illinois Gaming Board, reveal that slots brought in $140.7 million, up 6.6% year-over-year, while table games added $42.4 million, up 9.1%.
Rivers Casino remained the state’s top-performing property with $44.6 million, including $28.6 million from slots and $16 million from table games. Wind Creek followed with $22 million, Hard Rock Casino Rockford posted $13.4 million, and Grand Victoria generated $13.2 million.
Hollywood Casino Joliet, which moved on land in August of last year, saw its revenues rise by 56% to $12.4 million. Other year-over-year double-digit increases came from Wind Creek Southland, which opened its full resort in April (up 30.6%) and Walkers Bluff (up 10.4%).
Harrah’s Metropolis had the biggest year-over-year revenue decline, dropping 11.8% to $4.8 million. Other casinos to record major declines were Harrah’s Joliet (down 8%) and Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino (down 3.7%).
