GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) – An Anderson County man suffering from leukemia has been sentenced to time served for his guilty plea to charges of operating an illegal gambling business.
Multiple media outlets report that 63-year-old Bobby Mosley Sr. of Townville was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Greenville on Wednesday.
Mosley and another man and a software company were indicted on federal charges of conducting, financing and managing an illegal gambling business based in Piedmont.
Mosley, his son-in-law J. Michael Caldwell of Williamston and Frontier Software Systems, LLC, were ordered to forfeit $20 million to the United States. Prosecutors say the money came from criminal activities.
Mosley would not answer questions as he left the courthouse. Defense attorney Billy Wilkins says Mosley has retired and is closing his business.
