IGT announced Tuesday that its Powerbucks wide-area progressive for Canada recently surpassed the CAD$100 million milestone in cumulative jackpot payouts.
A lucky Powerbucks Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Big Money player at Casino Lac Leamy in Québec won a CAD$1,156,696 jackpot on April 24,taking Powerbucks’ total payout tally past the CAD$100 million mark and furthering the title’s jackpot-paying legacy.
“IGT’s Powerbucks has been a cornerstone of Loto-Québec’s slot offering for nearly a decade,” said Kevin Taylor, Loto-Québec Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Casinos and Gaming Halls. “Being part of IGT’s CAD$100 million Powerbucks jackpot celebration is a memorable moment for Casino du Lac-Leamy and our players, and a continuation of the game’s appreciation in our casinos and online.”
“As the world’s first omnichannel WAP jackpot, IGT’s Powerbucks has consistently delivered on its promise of awarding life-changing jackpots at any bet level and enabling casino operators across Canada to drive value and nurture cross-platform player relationships,” said Chad Helm, IGT Vice President of Sales, Canada and Oregon. “Hitting the CAD$100 million Powerbucks jackpot milestone at Casino Lac Leamy on a Wheel of Fortune-themed game is extra special, given our current Wheel of Fortune Slots 30th anniversary celebration.”
IGT’s Powerbucks was the gaming industry’s first slot game to link jackpot liquidity among land-based, online, and mobile versions of a slot game to a single progressive jackpot. With a static and progressive jackpot, each with a CAD$1 million reset value, Powerbucks quickly transformed the gaming landscape in Canada following its 2016 debut. IGT remains the only supplier to offer omnichannel WAP jackpot products.
