On Tuesday, Basketball Hall-of-Fame inductee and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal helped Inspired Gaming launch its Rush Basketball Virtual Sports product group and its upcoming Rush Basketball virtual reality game.
“Our Rush Basketball product group promises to be the best on the market, using our latest technology and filming techniques to bring players their most authentic virtual sports experience yet,” Inspired Digital Games CCO Steve Rogers said.

NBA Hall-of-Famer and four-time champion Shaquille O’Neal helps Inspired Gaming launch its Rush Basketball Virtual Sports group brand during G2E Tuesday afternoon.
On September 16, Inspired announced its partnership with O’Neal to promote its new virtual sports brand. The company plans an early 2017 launch of its Rush Basketball virtual reality gaming system.
O’Neal made a two-hour stop at the Inspired Gaming booth at G2E, which drew thousands of fans and attendees to the booth.
O’Neal won three NBA titles as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers and a fourth with the Miami Heat. He was named the NBA’s most valuable player in 2000, was the NBA Finals’ MVP three times, and a first-ballot Hall-of-Fame inductee.
In April, Inspired inked a deal with Spin Games to deploy its virtual sports technology in North America via The Roc platform, and with plans to create virtual race, football and basketball programs.
In July, Inspired launched what it calls the first virtual reality gaming program release in the United States via its partnership with William Hill, which is running Inspired’s land-based virtual horse racing program at race books at the Plaza and Silver Sevens casinos in Las Vegas.
Rogers said Inspired Gaming’s virtual race programs in the UK account for 18 percent of its horse racing revenues in the UK. The company hopes to meet or beat that figure in the United States.
Based in London, Inspired says it provides “unique virtuals, casino, slots and video lottery games and technology” in 35 nations, via 35,000 gaming terminals.
