CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – A special House gambling panel is at odds with the New Hampshire Liquor Commission on whether a Senate bill allows a casino to serve alcohol 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The House panel met with commission representatives Tuesday to discuss what kind of liquor license the bill allows a casino. Rep. Patricia Lovejoy, the panel’s chairwoman, said the group’s reading of the bill allows the casino to serve drinks whenever it is operating.
But James Wilson, director of enforcement and licensing, said the commission believes the intent is to limit the hours to the same as other cocktail lounges – which is 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
The House assigned the bill to its Finance and Ways and Means committees. The House votes on it this month.
