The Ho-Chunk Nation has applied for a liquor license for its $705 million casino project and, unless the City of Beloit alters its timelines, the earliest it will be approved is Oct. 5.
On Monday night, the city council [was] expected to refer the request for a new Reserve Class “B” liquor license that would allow beer and intoxicating liquor sales at 777 Willowbrook Road.
The Alcohol Beverage and Liquor Control Committee (ABLCC) will review the application at a special meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 22 and the city council will vote on the committee’s recommendation at the Oct. 5 regular meeting.
Although Ho-Chunk has received liquor licenses for its other six operating casinos in Wisconsin, it has not always been approved without controversy.
