Century Casinos has reported its financial results for the third quarter, collecting $155.7 million in operating revenue, a 3 percent decrease compared to the $161.2 million collected in the same period last year, but earnings rose 24 percent year-over-year to $17.9 million.
Net loss was 43 percent less than third quarter 2023, at -$8.1 million. Last year, it was $14.2 million.
“Earnings from operations were in line with our expectations for the third quarter and grew 24 percent compared to the third quarter of 2023,” Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, co-CEOs of Century Casinos, said in a statement.
Last week, Century Casinos opened its new Caruthersville casino, replacing the old venue that had been on the river for almost 30 years. The facility offers 50 percent more gaming positions than the temporary casino location, with 599 slot machines and nine live table games.
“We are excited for the potential of this new casino and hotel to expand our customer base further into Arkansas and the north Memphis area of Tennessee,” the CEOs added.
Based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Century Casinos operates 11 casino venues across Colorado, Nevada, Missouri, West Virginia, Maryland and Alberta. The company also holds a 66.6 percent stake in Casinos Poland Ltd, which owns and operates seven casinos in Poland.
