The Wyoming Legislature continues to look for answers on how to address concerns from municipal officials who want more authority over how many gambling locations can operate in their communities.
Some state officials tried to tackle the issue Thursday by discussing potential legislation to bring to the 2026 budget session. Three bills concerning local control over gambling were slated for discussion, but after more than three hours, no decisions were made.
The Joint Gaming Task Force ended up discussing the first bill the whole time and ultimately decided it was best to not rush a decision on a topic that will impact many Wyoming residents and the multi-billion-dollar gambling industry statewide.
