Critics of the latest effort to expand gambling options in Massachusetts have an unlikely ally: Wynn Resorts, the operator of the state’s largest casino.
The company behind Encore Boston Harbor in Everett didn’t send someone to testify at a hearing on Thursday that the Legislature’s economic development committee held to discuss gambling bills. But Wynn certainly made its position known, with a letter to the committee’s co-chairs that same day. In that letter, Wynn slammed a bill filed by Representative David Muradian of Grafton to allow gamblers to use their phones to place bets on poker, blackjack, and other games of chance.
