A future casino in Beloit took a step forward Thursday night as the Rock County Board updated an intergovernmental agreement for the project between the city of Beloit, the county and the Ho Chunk Nation.
The vote was 27-1 vote with Supervisor Kevin Stone the sole dissenter.
The casino is proposed to be constructed on property owned by the Ho-Chunk Nation in the city of Beloit.
The vote amended an existing agreement that was set to expire, to extend it to the end of 2024.
The Beloit City Council in May unanimously approved the extension.
