Following in the footsteps of ilani’s steakhouse earlier this spring, the Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s Ridgefield casino resort is revitalizing another one of its fine dining restaurants with more of a tribal influence.
A new restaurant called sámn opens Oct. 1 at the casino, promising something special for patrons with a taste for seafood and locally sourced ingredients, grounded in the tribe’s culinary traditions. It replaces Line & Lure, a Pacific Northwest seafood restaurant that was one of the first restaurants to open at the casino in April 2017.
The tribe’s new restaurant takes its name from the Cowlitz term for fish and is “inspired by the traditional ingredients and foodways of the Pacific Northwest’s tribal communities,” according to a release from the tribe.
