Officials have confirmed that a years-in-the-making full casino resort will open in southern Virginia — about an hour from Durham — by the end of the year.
Caesars Virginia is finishing construction on a $750 million casino resort in Danville. Caesars and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians opened the Danville Casino, a temporary facility, in mid-May 2023.
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians confirmed that the full casino — with 1,400 slot machines and 80+ live table games — is on track to open in December.
The Caesars website said they are now accepting reservations in the 320-room luxury hotel for April. The casino would be open in December, but an exact date has not been announced.
