The former chief executive of Ladbrokes, Jim Mullen, has been chosen as the new group CEO of the UK horse racing organization The Jockey Club.

In this role, he will replace interim chief executive Charlie Boss, who has been in the post since December 2024 following Nevin Truesdale’s resignation.

After taking the reins, he will lead the UK’s largest commercial horse racing organization, which owns many of the country’s most famous racecourses, including Aintree, Cheltenham and Epsom Downs.

Jim Mullen said: “While The Jockey Club will be known to many as one of the most prestigious and established organizations in British sport, it is also a forward-thinking and exciting business with its focus firmly on the future.
