Two cardrooms owned by Kirkland-based gaming company Maverick Gaming are set to close, with 123 employees losing their jobs in the process.
Silver Dollar Mill Creek Casino in Bothell and Crazy Moose Mountlake Casino in Mountlake Terrace will shutter July 31, according to worker adjustment and retraining notifications received Friday. Upon closure, 41 employees at Silver Dollar Mill Creek Casino and 82 workers at Crazy Moose Mountlake Casino will be laid off.
Maverick filed for bankruptcy in July, shuttering four other Seattle-area cardrooms: Dragon Tiger Casino in Mountlake Terrace, Palace Casino in Lakewood, Silver Dollar in Renton and Roman Casino in Seattle.
In Washington, bars and taverns can sell pull tabs, and commercial cardrooms can run table games, but only Native American tribes can run casinos.
