James LeBlanc has been visiting Aqueduct Racetrack since 1964, when his father first took him there for a day of races and small-time betting. He immediately fell in love with the whole scene: the horses, the wagering, the way all his neighbors from Richmond Hill would congregate in what used to be called section 2-T. He compares the old days at Aqueduct to a neighborhood bar: a place to hang out with pals, where everybody seemed to know your name. By the time he was 9, LeBlanc knew how to read a racing form, and he’s maintained his love of horse racing throughout his life.
