The Neon Museum will host a special program featuring casino developer Steve Wynn reflecting on the conception, construction and legacy of The Mirage, the Las Vegas resort credited with launching the modern megaresort era.

The evening will focus on the period from 1987 to 1992 and trace the origins of the property from an audacious idea that challenged Las Vegas’ prevailing economics and aesthetics to the unprecedented financial risks required to bring it to life.
“The Mirage represents a pivotal chapter of modern Las Vegas,” Aaron Berger, CEO of the Neon Museum, said in a statement.
