The Neon Museum will add two artifacts from The Mirage Hotel & Casino’s iconic Volcano attraction to its Neon Boneyard next month. A public unveiling is set for Friday, June 5, featuring the Mirage Lagoon sign and a Volcano FireShooter. The ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m., with tickets starting at $35 for nonmembers.
The Lagoon sign was originally made in September 2008 and previously sat along Las Vegas Boulevard as part of the resort’s Volcano display.
Museum officials say the artifacts represent one of the Las Vegas Strip’s first large-scale free entertainment attractions, drawing visitors and locals for decades.
Because the sign was donated in working condition, the museum focused on conservation rather than a full restoration.
