The Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians are inching closer to building a proposed 400,000-square foot casino project in Vallejo.

On Monday afternoon the Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians amended their ongoing federal lawsuit challenging the Department of the Interior’s March 27 rescission of the Tribe’s gaming eligibility determination, citing new documents that further bolster their case.

The amended complaint alleges that the Department’s reversal was not based on legal error or new evidence but was instead the result of an unlawful and politically motivated campaign orchestrated by lobbyists representing a competing tribal casino.

“The law and facts are absolutely on our side, so we are confident that the court will uphold our rights,” said Shawn Davis, Chairman of the Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians.
