Rank Group has proposed making a payment of £5m [$6.7m] to the UK Gambling Commission over “historical compliance failures” related to its Grosvenor Casino business, with the operator saying the regulator is “minded to accept” the proposition.
Rank made the revelation in its FY26 trading update, saying it submitted the proposal on 20 May this year. The payment would be made in lieu of a financial penalty.
According to Rank, the Commission conducted a review of the operating licence held by its Grosvenor Casinos business. It did not disclose the nature of the failings flagged by the UK regulator, however, it did confirm that remedial actions were “substantially implemented” in H1 of 2025-26.
