Sweden’s gambling channelization rate fell again in 2025 as new figures from the country’s regulator highlighted continued challenges in the online casino segment.

According to the latest Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) report, the channelization rate for 2025 was 84%. This was slightly below the 85% rate recorded in 2024 and the 86% reported in 2023.

The SGA noted that channelization levels vary significantly between verticals, with betting continuing to outperform online casino in terms of keeping players within the regulated market. While sports betting remained highly channelized at 96%, the rate for online casino stood at just 81%.

Among other key findings was an estimation that 94% of all players gambled with a licensed operator a least once during the 12-month period.
