A long-awaited hotel at Hollywood Casino Columbus is officially opening after years of planning and construction, with casino leaders and community stakeholders saying the project could help drive economic growth on the city’s West Side.
Casino officials cut the ribbon Thursday on the new hotel, a project first announced in October 2022. Guests will be able to begin checking in Friday.
More than $100 million was invested in the development, according to casino officials.
Rick Skinner, vice president and general manager of Hollywood Casino Columbus, said the addition will expand the casino’s reach while creating new opportunities for the surrounding community.
“We’re creating over 150 new jobs and positions,” Skinner said. “My hope is it’s a spark for an economic engine and growth in our part of Columbus.”
