Bills that would allow casinos in other parts of New Jersey and that would further restrict casino smoking or ban it outright have been reintroduced in the state Legislature, the latest evidence that these unresolved controversies are not going away.
The measures had not received final approval by Tuesday, the final day of the last legislative session.
As a result, their sponsors have to start from scratch, reintroducing the bills, which need to be heard and voted on by committees, the full state Senate and Assembly before heading to the desk of incoming Gov. Mikie Sherrill.
The measures were reintroduced Wednesday, the first day of the new session.
