The Atlantic City boardwalk’s famed grip on gambling is crumbling.

Developers vying to open three casinos in the New York City area are looking to lure gamblers from the Garden State, which for decades raked in revenue from a monopoly given to Atlantic City.

New Jersey’s gambling palaces have been in decline for nearly two decades as neighboring states have allowed casinos and online betting has eaten into their lure.

But the looming launch of three New York City behemoths — backed by some of the country’s biggest gaming and entertainment companies — is certain to diminish what’s left of Atlantic City’s shine.
