New York sportsbooks broke the monthly revenue record in September, narrowly besting the previous high set earlier this year.
Online sports betting in NY generated nearly $165.6 million last month, according to the New York State Gaming Commission. In March, NY sportsbooks reported $162.8 million in revenue.
State tax collections also hit an all-time high as a result. New York mobile sports betting produced more than $84.4 million in taxes in September, up slightly from the $83 million reported in March.
The books’ good fortune in September was the result of nearly $1.76 billion in legal wagers, according to the NYSGC data. Year-over-year, last month’s handle is a 40% increase compared to September 2022.
