New York Mets owner Steve Cohen will host a community meeting to discuss a possible New York casino near Citi Field.

The “visioning session” will be at the ballpark on Jan. 7. The session will kick off a series of talks with community members on re-imagining the space around the stadium.

In a press release, Cohen said his team has been listening to the local community on ways to reinvest in the space to access its full potential.

“For months, we have been listening to the local community who keeps telling us there is more they want from the area. Everyone agrees that the status quo isn’t acceptable. We are committed to putting forward a vision for the area that will create a shared space that people not only want to come to and enjoy but can be proud of.”
