The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has launched a new advertising campaign to encourage meeting planners to consider the city’s nearly 15 million square feet of exhibit space for future trade shows, conventions and meetings.

“The Vegas Effect,” a new business-focused brand platform and integrated campaign, launched Oct. 12, coinciding with the start of a major business travel conference that concluded its 15th annual meeting in Las Vegas at the end of last week.

The three-day IMEX America brought 17,800 people to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The show is North America’s biggest trade show for event planners, convention bureaus and travel buyers and has a similar format to IMEX Frankfurt, which runs in May and generally attracts around 13,500 people with nearly 5,000 buyers and 2,900 exhibitors.
