Sandia Resort and Casino hosted a special celebration Wednesday evening to mark 25 years since its modern-day casino opened at its current location, but Sandia Pueblo leaders say the journey to get to this point began much earlier.
“It began almost 42 years ago with the opening of Sandia Indian Bingo, and then graduating to the big tent that a lot of people do have memories of, and then to the current location that we’re in,” said Sandia Pueblo Gov. Stuart Paisano.
Wednesday’s festivities at the casino included food, drinks, raffles, and more to kick off the next 150 days, which will feature new events and promotions to mark a quarter-century in existence.
