New Jersey’s internet gambling revenue remained in near-record territory in September, but Atlantic City’s brick-and-mortar casinos saw a sluggish month once the summer crowds departed, according to figures released Friday by state gambling regulators.

The nine casinos, two horse tracks that take sports bets and their partners collectively won $563.7 million last month, up 1% from September 2024.

But because money won from internet gambling and sports betting must be shared with outside parties, including sports books and tech platforms, and is not solely for the casinos to keep, the gambling halls consider money won from in-person gamblers to be their core business.
