New bill to legalize sports betting and online poker filed in Kentucky

Last year, after lawmakers in Kentucky failed to pass a bill to allow online poker and sports betting, supporters vowed to try again in 2023.

Those supporters are now on the clock. They have until the penultimate day of March to win passage for the next iteration of a poker and sports betting bill — the fourth in as many years — in the Kentucky General Assembly.

Three Democratic lawmakers — Reps. Derrick Graham (D-Frankfort), Rachel Roberts (D-Newport), and Cherlynn Stevenson (D-Lexington) — on Thursday introduced HB 106, which at this time has no official title other than “an act relating to wagering and making an appropriation therefor.”
