Missouri is now less than three months away from legalized sports betting. Jan Zimmerman, chair of the Missouri Gaming Commission, told Missourinet that preparations are going well.
“We’ve had obviously a significant number of applications and those are to, you know, both the big names that you’ve probably heard of like BetMGM and Underdog (Fantasy) Sports,” she said.
Starting December 1st, Missourians will be able to legally place bets on sporting events without leaving the state. Sports wagering will be allowed at Missouri’s casinos and on mobile devices through DraftKings and Circa Sports. Zimmerman said FanDuel, which lost out on the state’s two untethered licenses, is expected to team up with a “brick and mortar” location.
