The Biloxi Planning Commission voted Thursday to approve the master plan, a zoning change and the removal of 28 protected trees for a new casino planned for Veterans Avenue.
RW Development presented the plan, known as the Black Marlin, during the commission meeting. The project is a 119,000-square-foot property that includes a hotel, food, retail and gaming space.
John Stewart, owner and founder of Encompass, the company leading the project, laid out the master plan.
“It’s been a lot of work going into that, a lot of meeting with the city, and a lot of partnership with the community,” Stewart said.
