Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order banning state employees from using nonpublic information to bet on prediction markets.
The order follows a federal judge’s decision to halt a new state law that would have banned prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket.
The U.S. Senate banned senators and their staff from trading on these markets in April.

The executive order comes a day after a federal judge granted a preliminary injunction halting the implementation of a new Minnesota law that bans prediction markets.
