The $970 million casino reported 1,490 employees three months earlier in the third quarter of 2023, reported Thursday at a virtual meeting of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Half of MGM’s employees identify as minorities, matching the goal of 50% minority hiring, according to the quarterly report. Four percent of current employees are veterans, doubling the goal of 2% but just 41% are women, short of a 50% goal.

Job creation was one of the primary motivators behind legalizing casino gambling in the state and MGM came into the market promising 3,000 jobs.
