More than 1,300 workers at Encore Boston Harbor in Everett say they will walk off the job Friday morning at 7 a.m. if they don’t reach a new agreement with the casino after their union contracts expired Monday night.

Workers represented by UNITE HERE Local 26 and Teamsters Local 25 overwhelmingly voted in mid-August to authorize a strike after months of negotiations with the casino. The more than 1,000 workers who voted in favor of striking include housekeepers, slot attendants, waitstaff, delivery drivers, grounds staff and more.

Workers are pushing for wage increases of $10 over three years for non-tipped employees and $5 for tipped employees, a rate that Local 26 president Carlos Aramayo says would bring their wages up to match other unionized hotels in the area.
