The former head of security at South Beach Casino is suing for wrongful dismissal, claiming he was dismissed for raising concerns about the sale of illegal drugs at the casino.

The casino denies the allegation and says in a court document that it was necessary to terminate the security manager because two other employees had complained that he was sexually harassing them.

Devin Morin began working in 2022 as the security manager at the casino and resort located in Scanterbury, Man., on Highway 59 south of Lake Winnipeg, about 60 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.

Morin was informed at a meeting with the casino’s executives on July 29 that his employment was being terminated “with cause” because of an allegation of workplace harassment, his lawsuit says.
